Several boats were destroyed. 8 people were working on the crane at the time of the accident. 5 of them were able to save on their own whereas three others were saved by employees of the MES of Russia.
The crane had to  be used in installation the last segment of the bridge.
The bridge is facing an active transformation, asphalt is being laid now. Arcs of the bridge are ready.
How could such a huge crane fall down?
Workers say that the crash occurred due to somebody’s criminal negligence.  Puddles of machine oil can be seen on the water.
Let’s go upstairs to see the place of the accident better.
The crane was intended for bridge construction. It was the biggest technological construction of the type in Ukraine.
Specifications: actual carrying capacity – 680 tons, height of the crane arm – 93,3 m, size of the main boat – 97x16m, mass of the assembled crane – 3000 tons.
The last arc has to be mounted here but nobody knows when it is going to happen.
It seems that two 5-storey buildings have fallen down.
The bridge is still under construction.
Construction of the crane was over in 2009. In August 2010 the crane was used for the first time in dismantling of another floating crane.
The main arm of the crane is over 100 m long.
The crane has two auxiliary boats. One of them carries the arm during transportation.
Boats are fixed laterally from the crane to increase stability.
The crane can be controlled from the front cabin and works both in an autonomous regimen and from the coast using a cable.
The crane with a lifted arm.
The adjacent crane was dismantled last year.
The photo was taken 10 minutes before the crane crash.
11:24 a.m. The arm of the crane is not observed above the bridge any longer.
The crew is saved and workers are trying to catch the boat that has floated away.
Let’s continue the examination.
The person was working on the crane.
Welding seams are deformed along the entire arm. Even the flat upper part is curved now.
The reasons for the accidents are still being discussed.
It is hoped that the crane will be restored in winter.
